Rachelle is getting married. Who cares? Her sister got out of rehab-who cares? The whole thing looks like one big cliche. I lasted about 10 minutes with this woke mess. To start with, I find Ann Hathaway unlikable. They probably sing…

Jonathan Demme’s unabashed tribute to Robert Altman certainly captures some of the latter’s style with handheld camerawork giving the impression of a reality TV episode, music limited to live incidental, and dialogue coming from every…

This 2008 indie/drama stars Anne Hathaway and is about an outrageous woman who was recently released from rehab so that she could attend her sister’s wedding. As tensions rise, the truth comes out and the family begins to feel very bitter…

Godawful movie. Trite, predictable, tedious, and forced. Whoever thought this was the "best picture of the year" was probably confined to a maximum security prison where the only other choice was Rocky XII.

Perhaps it is unfair to label this film as "awful" given I only watched the first 5 minutes or so. However one would need to enjoy A LOT of crass and vulgar language to view any longer.

A women struggles with drug addiction after a tragic event that she is responsible for, involving her young brother. She gets out of rehab to attend the wedding of the sister who has never forgiven her. Intense and realistic portrayal of…

I was hoping that the film would focus more on the characters and their issues and less on the wedding. Why couldn’t Rachel just elope?

Anne Hathaway received Golden Globe and Oscar nominations for her portrayal of a drug and/or alcohol addict who has a weekend out of a rehabilitation center so she can return home for her sister’s wedding. The return shows interesting…

I thought that the plot was good and well written. The music was very very bad, the movie could have had 60 minutes cut out and it would have been much better. There were at least 6 different bands at the never ending reception after the…

This has got to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen. Nothing but random people rambling on and on. I had to turn it off 30 minutes into it.

This movie wasn't really a climax sort of movie. That being said, I still enjoyed it.

ONE hold on 109 copies??!!!? Could it be that the PUBLIC library has wasted the taxpayers' money . . . AGAIN?????? This is one of the worst films ever made, bar none. Stupid script ("I refuse to believe in a God who would accept a…

OK, this is really about a wedding so if you aren't in for that sort of thing or just go for the free bar and reception then this probably isn't for you. troubled family member exits rehab on a weekend pass, sole purpose, the wedding. …

I thought Anne Hathaway did a brilliant acting job in this but I found the film rather slow and boring and in many ways predictable. Only worth watching for Hathaway's acting skills in my opinion.

I agree with itascapark. I found this film moving, well-acted and true to life. Anne Hathaway is really good in this. And I really enjoyed seeing Debra Winger in a movie again. Her character was unlikable but as always, she's an excellent…

The movie did a great job of protraying how an addict affects the whole family...and vice versa. Made me see the different emotions each individual experienced when Kym ("the black sheep")came home for her sister's("good girl") wedding.

Compelling and intense. I felt like I was watching a documentary on a dysfunctional family, the dialogue was that realistic!

I found this movie to be very slow and boring. If you are looking for a movie that will really captivate you than this is not the one. I would take a pass on renting this one.

The film lacked direction. Cameras at every angle and lack of editing made the film even harder to watch. The wedding was ridiculous and boring, I can't believe I watched it.
