I decided not to show this movie to my children due to cultural misrepresentation and miseducation, as explained in this article:

I wasn't a huge fan of the book as a kid, it didn't really interest me, the movie wasn't much better, and given the problematic depiction of Native Americans both the book and movie have, you can safely pass on this one.

Very nice, touching and exciting fantasy movie. But there is more: It also explores a number of important values such as problem solving, trust, responsibility, caring for others and not least it touches on 1st nations issues.

I saw this years ago when it first came out. Now that I have a 7 year old boy. I put a hold for it. I know he will like it just like I did. Cute movie with a lesson in the end.

Haven't seen this yet. Working up the nerve. It's always scary to see a movie made from a favorite book.
