I came to this book late after reading
an obit about the author’s life.
“A Round-Heeled Woman” reads like fiction, but
The well-written memoir is , if not shocking , stark
In its details.
Juska writes like a dream..smooth, funny and honest.
And that would be enough for me..but the storyline
Is an original.
Juska’s reckless quest late in life “for lots of sex” with a man she likes
belies her intelligence and history. Does she succeed? Was it worth it?
It certainly is for the modern reader.

An embarrassing reminder of some of my own faux pas in my youth and late middle age. Cleverly written and oozing with insight into a repressive upbringing and late life reaction to finding what she missed in youth. Also great description of the type of elderly male lovers one is likely to meet these days through dating sites. I hated this book and I loved it. Brava Jane.
