One of the better Amanda Pepper books, better writing than the average "cozy" mystery novel, great plot, and actually exciting if you get sucked into the feeling that something really bad is happening all around, and we don't know what. It's a quick, fun read but the characters are so well drawn.

The first half of this book is slow and tedious. The author spends too much time detailing a high school English class.
