I gave this movie only one star, not because I despised it, but because it was soooo slow and so boring that it literally took me weeks to watch it. I tried several times to stay interested. I ended up watching the movie in fast foreword, just to see how it ended. I wasn't missing much. This movie would have been so much better without the repetitiveness and boring dialog. A little excitement and more romance would have been nice. I am SOOO glad I didn't pay to rent this!

Wasted close to two hours out of my life on this very depressing movie. Those of you who enjoyed this movie must have enjoyed watching Chindler's List as well!

Region 1 is the United States region for DVDs. All the rest, cannot be played on US DVD players.

To kevfarley...The error message you're getting from your DVD player "NOT FORMATTED FOR THIS REGION" is telling you that you have a DVD copy that was formatted for viewing in another country. There are two formats of DVD creation and playback, NTSC and PAL. The USA uses the NTSC format. You may have a PAL copy. Not sure why the NYPL would have a PAL copy

This is awful ! I really want to see this film, but when I got it home and put it in the DVD player...it says: "NOT FORMATTED FOR THIS REGION" !!?? I have watched hundreds of other New York Public Library films on this DVD player. But about a dozen have come up as "NOT FORMATTED" etc. !!?? Does anyone out there know what this means ? ... darn ! I really wanted to see this one. WHY is the New York Public Library buying sooo many DVD's that are "NOT FORMATTED" for the NYC area ? My branch had sent an inquery about this problem to 'Purchasing' several weeks ago, but there has still been no response (?). Has this happened to anyone else out there ?

Great acting but as someone else said "unrealistic". There is NO WAY Gina could have attended this summit without going through extreme security clearance. Unknown individuals cannot just can't tag along.

I can't recommend this movie because it is so unrealistic and silly. It started out as a promising love story and then degenerated into an incredibly naive and very highly biased political statement. Something like this never would have happened in real life, and the political position promoted is totally impossible to achieve in the real world.

a briliant movie and fine acting.Kelly McDonald is a rising star. Nighy is already there

Slow, languid, but with tenderness, a great (and restrained) performance by Nighy, and some very interesting points about politics and the art of the possible.

A wonderful movie. I'll watch it again.
