Once again, despicable Hollywood actress, Bette Davis chews up the scenery, non-stop, in this pathetic and truly demented story about life-long grudges, sibling rivalry, and a deep, dark secret kept under wraps for decades.

I watched this movie on Tuesday, it is now Thursday and the movie is still playing tricks on my brain.

Bettie Davis and Joan Crawford gave one of the best performances in their careers, the movie may be a bit outdated for today's movie audience but after watching the movie, I can see why it's a classic.

And the ending, that ending I did not see coming and that's the kind of movie that I like, where the ending completely and totally surprises you!

A very gripping, suspenseful movie, made even better by the excellent performances of it's two stars, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford! Brava!

Dated in its dramatic value, and primarily of interest to buffs of film history, Baby Jane from 1962 is a bit slow and sad. Instead, see the well done 2017 FX channel TV series "Feud: Bette and Joan" **** which covers the same territory and much more, with remarkable style!

Glad I watched this 1962 movie which I missed due to my young age at the time.

Would have liked it more if I had felt some emotional attachment to the main characters, but I didn't - just kind of watched from a distance.

(Fave "Baby Jane" quote) - "You mean all this time we could've been friends!??"

To be honest, I was all set to despise this "Comedy-of-Horrors", venomously, the very minute I sat down to watch it. But, that all changed within the first 15 minutes as I quickly became quite engrossed in the contrasting character portrayals given by its 2 lead, veteran actresses, Bette Davis and Joan Crawford (both in their mid-50s at the time).

I know that a lot of people rave approvingly about Davis's grotesque make-up and all of her "scenery-chewing" antics as being the highlight of this picture - But, personally, my vote for most outstanding performance goes to Crawford as Blanche Hudson, a prisoner trapped in her own tailor-made hell.

I'd say that Crawford's riveting "Please.... Help me!" scene clearly put all of Davis's over-the-top shenanigans to absolute shame.

Yes. This tragic tale about madness, pent-up resentment and living a life of long-faded dreams definitely has its fair share of glaring flaws - But, all the same, it certainly does hold up quite well, 53 years down the road.

I definitely give film-maker, Robert Aldrich, a lot of credit for his competent direction of this picture. I can't begin to tell you how thankful I am that he didn't allow its storyline to ride right off the rails into utter mayhem.

Serious camp. No wonder drag queens loves this film. 2 crazy sisters act crazy while surrounded by slightly less crazy people. There is murder, bitterness, jealousy, deception, rope burns, tears, and lots of make up. I couldn't get the "Letter to Daddy" song out of my head for 2 days. A very entertaining & creepy romp!

Joan Crawford and Bette Davis are spot on as their characters in this. Wonderfully written and superb acted. Not a scare film, but a creepy one even tho it was from another era... some things are just always creepy. And in this day and age where child stars are... well, usually not too successful after the cuteness dies down (the olsen twins and Dakota Fanning to name a few) it still holds a shred of revelency

I liked it, it was kind of cheesy, but from a different time period.
