One night, Ichigo Kurosaki gains the powers of a Soul Reaper (Shinigami) from another Soul Reaper, Rukia Kuchiki. His newfound powers force him to take on the duties of defending humans from evil spirits and guiding departed souls to the afterlife. After he gains his new powers, he knew that some of his friends have special powers including Orihime Inoue, Uryū Ishida, and Yasutora "Chad" Sado. Gotei 13 sent Renji Abarai and Byakuya Kuchik to the human world to find Rukia Kuchiki and bring her back to Soul Society…

If you want to know what happened afterward PLEASE read the book.......Actually do not read the last two seasons.....

This is actually a well-known manga, and the story is very descriptive and organized until Bleach - Season 4, the Lost Agent. The author of Bleach actually wants to end to the story before this season, however, the seller of the manga wants to story to continue, and this causes the author the draw bad ending at the end of the manga. The story is very unfortunate. Before season 4, the story is well-organized about the combat power in the manga. However, the combat power is a mass after season 4. This serious problem really affects season 5, Thousand-Year Blood War, it is really such a mess. The last boss was killed by one strike, does it means that the stuff that I saw is stupid???? This season is going to be anime, and I hope the story can change, or else this last season will be boring.

At first, I didn't know what to think of Bleach. I had seen it before, being spread around online a lot when I was younger, and at the time I didn't know what the hype was all about. People loved it, and I didn't get it, but that was before I picked it up to read. I found what I thought to be overrated was actually a charming book with a lot of spunk and heart to it. Bleach is a coming-of-age story about young Ichigo who discovers a whole new world. Besides all of the otherworld supernatural wackiness there’s a lot of depth to the characters who live to fight in it. The main character is not a typical protagonist. He's more of an anti-hero at first, but slowly does he come to terms with being what he is destined to be, which is a hero. The side characters are just as likable as the main and they truly make the series. Bleach is something I didn't think I would like, but I found myself loving it's youthful charm. Bleach is a 4.5/5, I recommend you pick it up if you like colourful fantasy worlds.

This is the first volume of the long term manga series Bleach. This pilot volume does a good job of detailing the main characters indirectly. This is portrayed well in the conservations between the characters and fight sequences. The book shows plenty of action for all the characters. Each main character basically has his/her own chapter. The secondary characters are also introduced but are not detailed as much. This is mostly what this volume focuses on. The only action in this volume are the other main characters interacting with the protagonist of the story, Ichigo Kurosaki. This volume does not show any human villains. This is to show the main characters first before the plot becomes more advanced. All of the villains in this novel are hollows, which are monsters without hearts. The volume also explains them. This is one of the best introductions to a manga with plenty of action, character interactions, and a bit of lore to the entire story.

Now this is more like it.

Fast paced and funny with an ongoing story. Bleach is definitely the kind of manga I should have been reading from the start.

I'm sorry I took so long.

A grim reaper with ninja skills, this basically sums up Ichigo Kurosaki. The hero is a 15 year-old who has inherited his parent's destiny and becomes a Soul Reaper. The illustrations are striking in black and white, the lack of color adds to the grim mood set by Kubo, and worked well with the plot and text causing the reader to feel anticipation with every turned page.

I found this to be a good read, though I do not like to be scared and had an eerie feeling for over half the book. The plot is pretty intriguing and I loved the spin of a Japanese grim reaper.

Read-a-likes include: Soul Eater by Atsushi Ohkubo, Pandora Hearts by Jun Mochizuki, and The Betrayal Knows My Name by Hotaru Odagiri.

Really a good manga to read I highly suggest it. Sadly at around issue 20 the plot repeats, but if you stay with it it gets more interesting at around issue 59.

I love this series! Kubo's art is beautiful, and I will ship Ichigo and Rukia until I die *-*

Really, though, this concept is so interesting and there's the perfect balance of action and comedy.

Kinda slow in the beginning, but keep reading it and it'll pick up. Nice cast too.

Awesome. Orihime and Sora's story is kinda sad.
