Yes! Yes! Yes! This book is AMAZING. Easily in my top ten favorite YA Fantasy books, and maybe even in my top five. This book follows Eon, a girl disguised as a boy, who enters into a contest of sorts to see if she can become the next dragoneye. Eon isn't your normal main character. She's flawed, both physically and mentally, and her battle to show her strengths and become a beautiful character is what makes this book so great. On top of that, the cultural references to china make this book special, and not another one of your standard medieval fantasy reads. The action keeps the book's pace quick, but the characters are who you fall in love with and stay for. The great part? There's a second book, and it was just as amazing.

loved this book!! i would stay up till 11-12 in the night just to read it . the plot was really good. It made you want to read more. At first I was hesitant but after I read the first chapter I was really into it. Great book. People should read it if they like Mythology.

Eon was an enthralling book. Although I didn't mean to i read it start to finish the day I borrowed it which I rarely do. I would recommend this book to all but children to read.

This book was absolutely amazing. I just couldn't wait to read the next book which was equally as stunning. However, I did not like the way "Eona" ended.

I struggled with this book in the beginning as it was not the kind of Dragon book I was accustomed to and the terminology was confusing. I had the benefit of reading this book while listening to the book on CD. I stayed the course as it became more interesting to read through the middle of the book and it had a very strong ending. I will read book 2, Eona – The Last Dragoneye. I do recommend this book to older teenagers. Doctor-at-Bass! T. A.

Eon is a cripple Dragoneye candidate, but he has the ability to see all twelve energy dragons at will, making him special. Even so, he was looked down upon, but he needed to become the Rat Dragoneye: otherwise, his master would have nothing left, and the friends he has made of some of his master's servants would be doomed to worse conditions than they were already in. But Eon could not give up hope, even if he was actually a 16-year-old girl named Eona and it was forbidden for females to use Dragon magic. If found out, she was as good as dead. But an unseen chance takes Eona on a path of more danger and more risks than she first imagined, and suddenly more than just the fate of her friends and master lie on her shoulders.
