I've read many books about the Far East. I thought this book might be a repeat of previous books. However, I found that this book pulled me in and made me a constant companion of the author - a wonderful book!

currently under question as to whether or not this book plagarizes the works of Paul Yee, Sky Lee, Wayson Choy (all in court) and Denise Chong.
