I listen to or read this book once a year. It has been a favorite of mine since elementary school. Hope Davis does a nice job of reading the book, but if you'd like a REAL treat, hunt up the original audio book read by the author. Even if you are very familiar with the material, it is a new experience to hear Madeleine read it herself. She actually read the whole original trilogy and they are all great.

I am sure you know to avoid the "new" movie like the plague. It has little to do with the source material. The older version of the movie is ok (though much reviled for some reason).

Hope Larson's graphic novel is a a lot of fun too. Look it up!

I just can't get through this book. There is not enough excitement for me. I have tried several times and I have decided that this is not the book for me.

Not a good book. Avoid.

Engrossing story, accessible philosophy. Exciting, scary, dramatic. Happy ending. I'd never read the book, and I'm catching up with a lot of these classics by listening as I drive about.

Different with every read. I loved this book as a child and still find it appealing as an adult.

I have enjoyed lots of Y.A. books but perhaps this one is too young for me?

Meg's father, a physicist for the government, has disappeared. Meg, her brother Charles Wallace and friend Calvin must find him with the help of Mrs. Whazzit, Mrs. Who and Mrs. Which. Published in the early 60's, this book may seem somewhat dated to today's Harry Potter fans, but it's still an enjoyable read.
