Socrates was undeniably one of the greatest thinkers of all time, yet he wrote nothing. Throughout his life - and indeed until his very last moment alive - Socrates fully embodied his philosophy in thought and deed. It is through the story of his life that readers can fully grasp his powerful actions and ideas. In his highly acclaimed style, historian Paul Johnson masterfully disentangles centuries of scarce sources to offer a riveting account of a man whose thought still shapes the way people live their lives today.

A short biography on the life of Socrates, from his philosophy to the dignity he kept when he was executed for “corrupting the youth” by making them question decisions of the leaders. This book deserves 5/5 for providing simplified insight into the complex thoughts of one of the greatest philosophers ever. For the people interested in learning about one of the greatest philosophers ever this book may be for them. You may also be interested in reading this if you want to learn about how life was in Ancient Greece. @selfhelpguru of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
