Alan Ladd was a success with a child actor in Shane, so he uses his own son David in "The Proud Rebel". Both father and son work great together since they do look much alike. David plays Alan's son that lost his voice. Olivia de Havilland and Dean Jagger round out the cast. Again, we have a story about a family out in the West struggling to survive. It is honestly some of the best family entertainment your going to ever see!
