Max doesn't feel at home in his Dad's new apartment after his parents split. After meeting some very interesting people who also live in the apartment, Max starts feeling like he belongs. A fun read for boys and kids living in a single parent household.

I found this story very charming and delightful. It deals with divorce delicately, as it is not the focus of the story but remains a central component and allows the main character, Max to explore and own his feelings. Lovers of Ramona and other Beverly Cleary books will certainly enjoy this one. Great for readers who are transitioning from early readers to chapter books. Also, would make a great family read aloud for younger elementary age readers.
