At the end of the day, Death visits everyone. Right before that, Charlie does. You might meet him in a hospital, in a warzone, or at the scene of a traffic accident. Then again, you might meet him at the North Pole - he gets everywhere, our Charlie. Would you shake him by the hand, take the gift he offers, or would you pay no attention to the words he says? Sometimes he is sent as a courtesy, sometimes as a warning. He never knows which.

A wonderful surprise of a book. Beautifully written. An idea to stop and ponder on almost every page. Couldn’t wait for Charlie’s next encounter. A biting critique on our time.

Very lyrical. Unlike anything else I've read. Think of it as a book of voices, of dialogue. You glean indirect characterization from dialogue, but the fun in it is that it's semi-realistic; there's just a component that is surreal— mentioned are the current political states of our world, and our country (after all, it was published in 2016). A unique read! Interesting, synapse-generating, stream-of-consciousness sometimes... but quick paced, like running a marathon... brutal and cruel. Quite enjoyable!
