All Grown Up unfolds as a series of stories or vignettes in a non-linear fashion, and it works. Andrea is a thirty-something art school dropout living in New York City and working at an advertising agency. She and her life have not changed substantially since she moved back to New York after dropping out of art school. She drinks too much, sleeps around. She doesn't seem very happy. But she doesn't seem to know what she really wants.

Read this if you like books that experiment with style, but not too much. Do not read if you can't empathize with imperfect characters.

I enjoyed this short, funny novel about a woman living in NYC. I like Attenburg's writing style and the book unfolds in a non-linear fashion, structured like a collection of short stories. The main character struggles with some inner-demons and family tragedies and her story is sometimes dark and occasionally sweet. This is a good quick read about wanting, but also resisting, adulthood.

Repetitive tales of an immature, boring woman with few interests.
