Now ensconced as artistic director of the New Burbage theatre festival, Geoffrey Tennant must stage the cursed play Macbeth to fulfill the vision of his deceased predecessor Oliver Welles. The actor cast in the lead engages in a titanic clash of egos with Geoffrey, while Oliver weighs in confrontationally from the grave. The festival faces a financial crisis that forces its CEO to engage in some risky business, while leading lady Ellen Fanshaw endures a life-altering tax audit. Adding to the mayhem is the return of the madcap guest director Darren Nichols, who stages a post-post-modern Romeo and Juliet after the original director breaks her neck. Could it be the curse of Macbeth?

Season 2 is the weakest of the three seasons, but still quite good and a lot of fun. Characters are fleshed out and made real. The Scottish Play :-) is addressed. It is even sweeter knowing that the mouse-burger administrator Anna (Susan Coyne) and the boorish buffoon CEO Richard (Mark McKinney) are the creators and major writers of the show. You can watch Season 2 on it's own, but it's even more fun in sequence!

I cannot say it better then the cover: smart dialogue, intelligent acting; Glee for grown-ups. If you like theatre, Shakespeare, British comedy, you will love this show. I The cast is charmingly endearing if not delicously obnoxious. I like watching this over and over and when I feel sad. I fell in love with everyone.
