--Atmospheric and evocative
--Protagonists are not sympathetic characters, especially DC Diane Fry
I think Stehen Booth is the best recent addition to the writers of British detective stories. He sets this book in the peak district and his writing make me see it and feel it's atmosphere. His lead character, Ben Cooper is very likeable, the interplay between characters is complex and the story is totally absorbing.
