I am a big fan of Melanie Dickerson and I always enjoy her books! This book was a little slow at the beginning but it picked up later on and I was really immersed. I love how it connects with other characters and the time period of the story. Definitely a fun book!
LOVED IT!!! It seemed to be very different from Melanie's other books, but I believe this is my second personal FAVORITE!!!!
Good read!!! Not the greatest from this author but was still pretty good!
Personally, I prefer Melanie Dickerson's books on the Princesses a bit more, but I guess this book was okay. The protagonist is threatened with the sake of lives of others, and is caught up in a "mutiny." Unable to reach assistance, she becomes a servant to her own and tries to figure out what could happen next. However, I did not personally like the personality of Magdalen. She seemed too simpleminded at times and acted as if she had no spine. Some may say she is compassionate, but I just think she was meek and the author overdid her "softness". The Duke was interesting to read about, but overall this is not one of my favourites.

Loved this story!!! Would recommend it to anyone who loves medieval romance with adventure!! I loved that the two main characters both had their flaws but were able to change and fall in love.
