Pensive and wistful, pondering universal and timeless themes of love, happiness, and fulfillment. One of those books where you turn the last page and close the cover with a feeling of contentment.

This is one of the best books I have read in a long time. The language is beautifully written. I became very engaged with both characters. Afterwards I decided they were at different stages of their lives but that does not stop them from being sympathetic and supportive of each other. I hope there are more books like this from this author.

This is a quiet book, but so, so lovely. A middle-aged farmer's wife writes a letter to a museum, only half hoping for a response. When the museum curator answers her letter, it begins a correspondence about life, choices not made, families, and many other things. Beautifully written.
