In this gritty and gripping new novel in the #1 New York TimesLyle is living with Rochelle while he gets his life together, and he?s thrilled to hear about his sister?s new job offer. But within hours, triumph is followed by tragedy. Returning from a celebratory dinner with her boyfriend, she finds Lyle dead with a syringe in his lap, and Eve?s investigation confirms that this wasn?t just another OD. After all his work to get clean, Lyle?s been pumped full of poison?and a neighbor with a peephole reports seeing a scruffy, pink-haired girl fleeing the scene. Now Eve and Roarke must venture into the gang territory where Lyle used to run, and the ugly underground world of tattoo parlors and strip joints where everyone has taken a wrong turn somewhere. They both believe in giving people a second chance. Maybe even a third or fourth. But as far as they?re concerned, whoever gave the order on Lyle Pickering?s murder has run out of chances?

Better than the last but still not very good. Move on to a new character or add some life to this one, these books are becoming money factories for the author and are not meant to satisfy the reader.

Yawn. Roberts seems bored with the characters, the last few books have been a total bore.

I have read all of the Eve Dallas books, and particularly enjoy reading about the lives of the characters.
This book, however, was lacklustre: the plot was thin, and I was bored through most of it. Too little mention of Peabody, McNab, and the other supporting characters I have come to love.

I've read all of this series and this one lacked the excitement of some of the previous story lines. The overall story line was flat and the characters not as vivid and multi-dimensional as before.

i was extremely disappointed with this book. it should have been rated xxx. there was no need for such graphic descriptions of sexual acts. also there was a great increase in foul language. i have read every single of the eve dallas novels and enjoyed them immensely. in this one i skipped many pages just to get to the end.

Eve Dallas and her partner try to find out who killed a reformed drug addict and staged it as a murder. I am a big fan of the In Death Series and have read and loved all of the books in this series. This book is another very good book. It held my interest from beginning to end. Looking forward to the next book in this series.
