Ambler at his best: a layered, gripping mystery which unfolds in Turkey and Eastern Europe as the narrator searches to unravel the curious life and death of Dimitrios. Also published under the title "A Coffin for Dimitrios. One of my all time favorite mysteries, it rises above the genre.
