The Philosopher’s Stone is a movie based on J.K. Rowling’s novel of the same name. The story is about an eleven year old boy who lives under the stairs, Harry Potter. On his eleventh birthday, he gets a visit from a man named Hagrid who tells Harry that he is a wizard. Hagrid takes Harry into the wizarding world for the first time, the world his parents lived in. He meets many creatures of all sorts and Hagrid helps Harry get all the supplies he would need for his first year at the magic wizarding school, Hogwarts. If you have read the Harry Potter series or Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, I would recommend watching this movie. When they made the movie, they mostly stayed true to the novel. If you have not read Harry Potter but would like to know what the hype is all about I would definitely suggest you watch this movie. Sometimes it is hard to pick up a book and you do not know if you will really like it, so watching the movie can definitely help. I would rate it five out of five stars. @SapphireReads of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board Harry Potter has always been a bit... different from everyone else. He lives with his uncle, aunt and cousin, the Dursleys who treat him horribly. However, on Harry's 11th birthday, he discovers a never before-known truth that changes his world completely. Unexpected friendships are developed and secrets are let out as the wizarding world becomes a frantic mayhem. It's no surprise but we all know that Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone is a classic that everyone should watch. This is an excellent family movie that is charming for all age groups. The movie delivers equal parts action, mystery, fantasy and comedy. In addition, the movie, Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone has a well thought out storyline and plot that will make viewers eager and anxious for the ending. Overall, the film was somewhat true to the book and will not disappoint. Thus, I without a doubt recommend watching Harry Potter and The Philosopher's Stone as well as the rest of the movie franchise. Rate: 4/5 stars. - @ReadingIceCream of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library This was a fantastic movie to watch and I really enjoyed it. Although it did not capture all the aspects of the book, it was so exciting to see all the words from the story come alive on a screen. With great casting and amazing animations, this movie is definitely worth watching for anyone who has read the book and wants to see a better vision of it, or maybe for someone who wants to get the Harry Potter story without reading. With realistic settings, characters, and effects, this book is worthy of a good watch, or maybe two. I would rate this movie 4/5 stars for its awesome execution. - @reviewguard of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library Harry Potter is definitely one of my favourite movies. I love this movie a lot because it’s a classic movie that everyone will like and is really enjoyable to watch with people. This movie lead on to make many other movies because of how great the first movie is I personally think that this is one of the best movies to ever come out. Without giving out any spoilers, this movie is about 1 kid named Harry Potter then he discovers something great that he is a wizard just like his parents and then he has many great journeys with his friends and he also encounters troubles on the way. I really like this movie and recommend the movie to everyone because of how funny it is and how serious it can become also it really makes you wonder what could happen next to Harry Potter. these are the reasons why I would give this movie a 5/5 rating. @Teen15 of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board
