This book is nuts. Set in a small Mexican town, it opens with the brutal murder of the local "witch," whose body is found by some local boys. The narrative voice is fast, furious, and truly filthy. Don't read this if you're squeamish. There's lots of violence and lots and lots of nasty sex. Also, she doesn't believe in paragraphs, which gives it a kind of drunken stream of consciousness feel. Imagine Burroughs and Gabriel Marquez getting smashed on weed and Mezcal in a dive cantina, and you might get the idea. Recommended with caveats.
