Have read many of his Harry Bosch books. Definitely think the character is getting "old" - to be expected after so many years.Contrast Harry to the Mickey Haller series. There is a clear "freshness" to Mickey Haller. You read the books differently as well. With Harry B, it's "Come on. Hurry up." With Mickey Haller, it's "Looking forward to what's coming next." Harry has developed an arrogance that has become rather offputting. His treatment of his partner, David Chu, as his personal gopher; his sanctimonious disdain for his lieutenant and chief, and how others drop everything to help him out... Definitely recommend older Harry B books. Not this one
