Funny how all the Critics liked this book. I had to finally go to audio books when it came to a Patricia Cornwell book, I could not finish the last few books because of all the unnecessary filler that made the book drag on, at least with audio books I can forward thru the boring parts (and there were alot of those) and not get lost if I went too far and needed to back up. In one audio book of hers ,I forwarded thru almost 4 cd's total without missing any of the story. Take out the parts we all know about, Lucy being gay, all of Marino stuff unless his character changes, he brings so much negativity to the story that has no purpose, besides if this was to be believeable , she would not be working with him after all he has done to her. So my advice is go with the audio book if you read P. Cornwell.
