My concise review of Sunburn is this: So what? Expanded review: Two unpleasant people fall in love. The woman has a dark past. So what? Unlikable characters can still be interesting, but these people weren't, at least to me. I usually like this writer, but this book didn't work for me. I think that she came up with an outline for a plot, then filled in the characters, but the plot was not much more interesting than the two main characters. I really didn't care about Polly's dark past. I thought Adam was a moron. And so was I for finishing this book, though I paged hastily through the last third just to see what happened. The only character I found either interesting or sympathetic was the crooked insurance agent who hired Adam to spy on Polly.
