This incredible tale of survival written primarily in verse is a gripping read! Nora has had to endure a lot, including the death of her mother, and now one year after her mother's death she finds herself alone in the desert after a flash flood sweeps away her father. The combination of prose, free verse, and concrete poetry flowed together beautifully and helped keep me on the edge of my seat. I would highly recommend this book to all survival story lovers in grades 4-6.
