I finally took a step away from The Chicks and have given Folklore a true chance. I am for sure a ballad girl, which makes this album perfect for me. But I did find more songs than usual that I just skip while listening. I think she offers wonderful storytelling, which I live for. Also, yes, I have dove into all the conspiracies about what all the songs mean and how they are connected, so let me know if you’ve got theories. I think I listen to Betty at least 5 times a day, it just reminds me so much of her early stuff, and I love it. Other stand outs for me are Exile (that man’s voice KILLS me), The 1 (#relatable), Illicit Affairs (for the anger), and Invisible String (just makes me happy). Overall, I have enjoyed it a lot, I have yet to figure out where it lies in my line up of her albums, so I’ll get back to you on that!
