At age 19, Pat Ardley left Winnipeg for Vancouver, looking for adventure. Little did she know that she'd spend the next forty years in the wilderness of the central B.C. coast. With her partner George, later known as Hurricane Ardley, she lived at a Lighthouse, then worked at several jobs in nearby Rivers Inlet before starting their own fishing resort, Rivers Lodge. Life was full of disasters and close calls, as well as challenges and rewards. Together the Ardley family ran the lodge for 35 years with Pat earning her own nickname - "Don't Mess With Me Ardley"
